Task 7 - Title Sequences Conclusion

After analysing many different title sequences, I have noticed that the font styles are all similair except when it comes to the title. This is so that it can look appealing and interesting enough for the audience to start watching. Also, the font style and colour hint at the type of genre the film will be. I have also noticed that when it comes to introducing the cast members, most titles are bigger in the size than the other. This is to highlight the main characters of the film. After the main characters are shown, the crew members are introduced. These could be musical crew, effects cew, etc. When it comes to introducing the film company's name, the font is stylized differently than the title. This is so that viewers remember the company's name and watch more of their films. In short, it is a visual representation of the types of films the company makes. In addition, the first title that is introduced is the studio name. Below is the order of the titl sequence that appear in a common film.

1. The first title shown is the film studio used. In this case, the studio's name is Paramount Pictures. The font style is the same throughout the whole opening (which appears to be arial black, bold) except in the title.

2.  The next title shown is the company production name.

3. Then, the first actor's name is shown. The font here is bigger than any of the other cast members' names that are shown. This indicates that this character is the main persona in the film, so the audience can pay close attention to him.

4.The title is introudced in a stylized, italic-looking font. This is quite large in size as it introduced the type of film it will be. It is shown for about 10 seconds, enough time for the audience to read and get a hint at the genre of the film.

5. After the title, the second main character is introduced and then follows the rest of the cast members being shown.

6.  Next is the musical crew members introduced. This is important as the crew members have put a lot of effort in producing the music, so it is important to credit them.

7.  The film editor is then introduced.

8.  The name of the production designer.

9. Director of the photography.

10. The executive producer is shown here.

11. The screenplay author is then introduced.

12.   The second to last is the producer of the film.

13. The last title introduced is the director's name. This is so that the audience can know and remember who directed the film.
