Task 31 - PITCH 1: The Film - Neena Kaur

THE PITCH...

Working name: Refugee

The whole film will consist of a Syrian girls life in present and past and the comparisons. As an outline of the whole film, she will reminisce about her harsh past life like whilst in the present. For example, one memory is triggered through seeing the beggar and she remembers of how unfortunate she was in the past. When it ends, we intend to show a flashback of the departure of her and her sisters hand. 

In the opening sequence, we will start off with the beggar walking; hopelessly. For this, we will use the location of central London. The main character at this point is also walking and thinks back of how her life was when she was once like that - triggering her memories from the past. She then goes to the mosque (another one of our locations) and prays - this is where she will have flashbacks and at this point we will have different camera angles and movements showing the two lives she has experienced and is experiencing. The flashbacks will consist of: 

1. Meeting a councillor who isn't willing to help 

2. Her life as a beggar

3. The departure of her and her sisters hand
